Bodmin is a civil parish and significant town in Cornwall, England, United Kingdom. It is situated south-west of Bodmin Moor. The 44-metre tall monument to Sir Walter Raleigh Gilbert was built in 1857 by the townspeople of Bodmin to honour the soldier’s life and work in India.
