Brent Cross is a district in north London, in the Borough of Barnet. It is between Wembley Park and East Finchley, and south of Edgware. The River Brent flows east to west through Brent Cross. The district has its own tube station, and is in Zone 3 of the Northern line. The A406 North Circular Road passes through Brent Cross, and it is home to Junction 1 of the M1.

The name Brent Cross comes from the name of a crossroads in the local area. By the mid-twentieth century the name was being used to describe local addresses, and it became the name of the area. Until the late 1800s, the area was mainly farmland, and known as Renters Farm. One of the first developments in the area was a sewage works, which was built in the late nineteenth century. Throughout the late nineteenth and twentieth centuries the area grew in infrastructure and population.

Brent Cross is perhaps best known for its shopping centre. This was opened in 1976 and was one of the first stand-alone shopping centres in the UK. It was expanded and renovated in 1995, when a multi-storey car park and more shops and restaurants were added. Although it is smaller than many other more modern shopping centres, Brent Cross still has a high income. It is known for being one of the locations for the James Bond film Tomorrow Never Dies. It was also the site of a failed bomb attack staged by the IRA in 1991.
