Charlton is an area in south east London, in the borough of Greenwich. It is between Woolwich and Vanbrugh Park, and north east of Kidbrooke. Charlton has its own railway station, and is about half an hour from Charing Cross Station. It is to the west of the South Circular Road and the B210 runs through it.

The centre of Charlton is known as Charlton Village. This has a number of historic buildings, and is the oldest part of Charlton. There are several pubs and shops here and it is known for its village-like atmosphere, despite its urban location. The north of Charlton is known as New Charlton. This has a large number of shops and many industrial buildings.
